5 Levels of truth – Level 2: Tell the truth to myself about another.

In relationships, openly stating the facts about others to ourselves is crucial for building a real and strong connection. Often, we create misunderstandings due to personal assumptions or hasty judgments, becoming obstacles to understanding others and causing disruptions in emotional communication.

For example, when a close friend or someone we like unexpectedly stops communicating, the pain and confusion fluctuate based on how much we care about them. Regardless of who is responsible, what makes us feel uneasy inside is never about external factors, but rather our own perspective on things.

However, when we bravely confront these misunderstandings and face our expectations and assumptions in relationships, we can break free from the human tendencies of arrogance and bias. By honestly acknowledging the realities about others, we can see each other more objectively, not being influenced by one-sided impressions. This fair understanding helps us better grasp the positions, feelings, and needs of others, leading to the establishment of a stronger and more genuine interpersonal connection.

Truthfully telling the truth to ourselves about others and recognizing the hurtful points in our relationships is a key step in promoting fair understanding and building genuine connections. Throughout this process, we get closer to others, and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves.
