If you are in your late 30s or early 50s, changes are taking place in your body, especially in your brain. Here is a 13-minute talk that I wish I had known about 20 years ago. I hope it will benefit you, regardless of whether you are a man or a woman.
Lisa Mosconi Neuroscientist reveals how exactly does menopause impact cognitive health & how decreasing hormone levels affect brain aging. A groundbreaking finding shares simple lifestyle changes you can make to support lifelong brain health.
This sequence of events also happens to men. If you search for Andropause on Google, you might find related topics as Male Menopause.
Share by https://balancedmedicalsolutions.com/ : Andropause or “male menopause” happens when there is a decrease in the production of male testosterone and is common in men between 40-60. Testosterone is the hormone that is produced in the testicles and adrenal glands and performs functions similar to those of estrogens in women.
From the age of 30, testosterone levels begin to decrease by 15%, then at around age 45 the first symptoms of andropause begin to be noticed by most men. By age 50, low levels of testosterone appear in 50% of men. By age 60, it is estimated that more than half of men are impaired by andropause, and by age 70, 70% of adults are very low in testosterone.
The causes of low testosterone are mainly related to aging, but are influenced by other factors that trigger andropause such as stress, alcohol consumption, certain medications, obesity, infections and the elevation of the level of SHBG or “sex hormone binding globulin”

Remember that perimenopause, menopause & andropause are not a disease, it is only a transitory period, a window of opportunity to make small changes that could pay huge dividends for your future health.
If you’re experiencing symptoms and seeking answers, here are three essential steps to take:
- Consult your local healthcare professionals for personalized diagnosis and medical guidance.
- Make sure to move regularly to reset your nervous system, release endorphins (happy hormones), ease physical discomfort, and strengthen your bones.
- Prioritize your body and nutrition, but don’t overlook your emotions. Taking care of your feelings is crucial for your efforts to truly pay off.
