Fixed mindset vs Growth mindset

Breaking free from a fixed mindset isn’t always easy, but it’s not as challenging as it may seem. For me, the key to achieving greater fulfillment and fostering positive relationships is to consciously recognize my own impact on my surroundings and continually recover from the inevitable “Oh no, I did it again!” moments. I’ve observed that when I adopt a growth-minded approach, it fuels my passion for making a difference, encourages me to take daring steps I’ve never tried before, and empowers me to turn failures into opportunities. Even though it can be a little or a lot tiring at times, the outcomes are truly rewarding, cause it benefits all.

On the other hand, when my fixed mindset decides to join the day, my “profound expertise” starts building a Great Wall to protect what’s new, and my body intensifies in seeking safety. I might freeze to avoid challenges or play the silent night when things don’t go smoothly. Nevertheless, the fixed-minded approach saved my face for many years because I often believed that sticking to what I knew was the safer path to be recognized.

Although our behaviors in facing challenges, opportunities, and setbacks are deeply influenced by our mindset, and we all know that building walls doesn’t protect much, choosing a growth mindset enhances our adaptability and flexibility. However, the reality of society often adds obstacles to the paths of applying these wise cognitions. Nevertheless, I still earnestly encourage each one of us to stay true to ourselves in our life journeys. Regardless of whether our failures or successes stem from the influence of mindset, every step we take leaves behind imprints of growth. We just need to look back at the path we’ve walked, pat ourselves on the shoulder, and wholeheartedly accept those colorful moments. Because where you are now is the starting point for your next glance backward.

An old Chinese proverb wisely states: “Those who blame others have a long way to go, those who blame themselves are only halfway through, and those who blame no one have already arrived.” I hope this reading could shorten our journey a bit. Please share with us more of your growth minded tips.
